Bradie Locklear, Harold Locklear's father, worked as a custom carpenter and in the construction industry for a number of years. Because of his love for woodworking and wanting to start his own company, he and his wife, Janie, decided to open LOCKLEAR CABINET & WOODWORK SHOP in 1959. His first job for the newly formed company was to design and build a custom kitchen (photo below). In just a short time, the reputation of LOCKLEAR CABINET & WOODWORK SHOP was synonymous with quality design and craftsmanship. Bradie Locklear dubbed it "The World's Best Cabinets".

Harold Locklear began working around the shop with his father and the crew as a child. He took over the helm of the business in 1972. Through hard work, persistence and talent, he has taken his father's dream and created a thriving, world-class custom cabinet and woodwork manufacturing company. The success of the Locklear Cabinet and Woodwork Shop can be attributed to Harold's attention to detail, personal supervision of every project from conception to installation, and the design creation of custom products of the finest quality and durability.
